About Yulimar Almanza

I'm Yulimar Almanza, a Miami-based GIA Graduate Gemologist specializing in jewelry appraisal and gemological consultation.

I work with clients who need professional documentation of jewelry value, independent evaluation, or expert guidance regarding diamonds and gemstones.

My work is grounded in formal training, hands-on industry experience, and a commitment to clear, unbiased evaluation.

I completed the full-time, in-person Graduate Gemologist program at the Gemological Institute of America in New York, earning both the Graduate Gemologist and Graduate Colored Stones diplomas. I have also completed professional appraisal studies coursework and the 15-hour USPAP course, ensuring my appraisal reports follow recognized professional standards.

But my foundation in jewelry began long before formal credentials.

I grew up around the jewelry industry, gaining early exposure to diamonds, colored stones, gold, and luxury timepieces through both wholesale and retail environments.

Over the years, I’ve worked closely with buying, selling, sourcing, and evaluating jewelry. This experience has given me an understanding not only of gemological grading, but also of how jewelry is actually traded, priced, and replaced in the real market.

This combination of laboratory education and real-world industry experience allows me to approach each assignment with both technical precision and practical market awareness.

My Approach

I believe appraisal work should feel straightforward and transparent.

Clients often come to me unsure of what they need—whether insurance documentation, clarity on an inherited piece, or simply a second opinion. My role is to guide you through that process calmly and professionally, explaining findings in a way that is clear and accessible.

As an independent appraiser, I do not buy or sell jewelry in connection with appraisal assignments. My focus is objective documentation and education, so you can feel informed and confident in the conclusions provided.

Who I Work With

I work with private clients, collectors, families, and professionals who need reliable documentation and expert insight regarding jewelry and gemstones.

Many clients seek appraisal services for insurance documentation, while others come for guidance regarding inherited jewelry, second opinions, or understanding the quality of a diamond or gemstone before making a purchase.
